What is Powerflushing?

Fernox Water Treatment Manufacturer

'Power, Jet or Hard Flushing' - there are several names for this useful, innovative service.

Basically, it involves cleaning your central heating system with fresh water flow at a high velocity but at a low pressure.

By adding powerful cleansing and mobilising agents we further improve the cleansing process.

Power Flushing removes sludge, limescale and corrosion deposits from the system.

This prevents excessive noise, increases efficiency and protects against future damage - including possible boiler failure.

It’s hassle-free, there’s no mess and, at the end, your system is left with fresh clean water.

Many modern boilers, while more efficient and less damaging to the environment, are susceptible to problems caused by debris in the system. That’s why we strongly recommend Power Flushing as part of your overall heating maintenance program.

How does it work?

The power flushing pump is simply connected into the heating system, either across standard circulator pump couplings, across the tails of one radiator, or wherever most practicable.

The powerful flow, combined with instantaneous flow reverse device, will dislodge and mobilise deposits and corrosion which resist traditional system cleaning methods. Once the corrosion and sludge deposits have been loosened and mobilised, clean fresh water is forced through the heating system, pushing the contaminated water out through the pump's drain to waste. During this process, radiators are individually flushed, without removing or disconnecting them from the system, by directing the full output of the pump through each radiator separately.
